As part of the Kaiserschild Walls of Vision project, the Kaiserschild Foundation offered Viennabase residents a free street art workshop with the artists Linda Steiner and Käthe Löffelmann.
On two half-days, wall surfaces were designed on the forecourt of the Viennabase building at Gymnasiumstraße 85.
Residents as artists
With the project Kaiserschild Walls of Vision, the cooperation partner Kaiserschild-Stiftung brings classic works of art from its art collection, reinterpreted by street artists, into public space and in this way aims to build a bridge between art history and contemporary visual art. The last façade design of this kind was created on the Viennabase student dormitory at Gymnasiumstraße 85. The current workshop enabled the residents to learn more about the path of interpretation and the creation of this façade painting, and to create a work of art themselves on an area on the Viennabase site. Beforehand, theoretical and practical aspects of street art were taught, for example about technique and material. In addition, Linda Steiner and Käthe Löffelmann give an insight into their work.
