Our mission: high-quality living at fair prices.
Viennabase has been home to students from all over the world since 1963 – a colourful mosaic of cultures and disciplines united under the rooftops of Vienna. Our centrepiece is affordable and comfortable cosy accommodation, from single rooms with private bathroom to studio apartments, which are more than just four walls – they are a home.
We do everything we can to ensure that our residences are not only affordable and safe, but also provide a sense of community and joie de vivre: With newcomer parties and digital scavenger hunts through Vienna‘s Instagram stories, we weave the social network that is Viennabase.
Viennabase is a pioneer of non-profit student housing, a catalyst of culture and a guardian of the environment. We are not just a housing provider, but a living chapter in the book of Vienna, rewritten every day.
In 2023, we were the first municipal company in Vienna to draw up a common good balance sheet. Click here to download our Common Good brochure..
Our most important value: Diversity
Students from all corners of the world have been living with us since 1963, united under the roof of diversity. Language, religion, gender, origin - every individual counts here, in all their uniqueness.
Diversity is reflected in everything we do: four houses in three districts, rooms in all shapes and colours, a colourful range of services and activities, and a community that is as diverse as life itself. We are proud of our diverse staff and residents, our rich experience and our dynamic way of shaping the future - always in harmony with your needs.

Common Good Matrix: A compass for a sustainable and just world
The Common Good Matrix is our compass for a better world. It assesses how companies and organisations contribute to the common good. It is not about profit – it is about humanity, solidarity, justice, sustainability and empowerment. With 20 themes at the interface of universal values and everyday business relationships, it provides guidance for ethical behaviour.
The Common Good Balance Sheet brings this matrix to life. It is a living document that shows how companies, local authorities and educational institutions contribute to the common good. It reflects the impact of their actions on society and the environment and motivates value-based and holistic growth. With the Common Good Matrix and the Common Good Balance Sheet, we are committed to a world in which the well-being of people and the planet is a top priority.
